Clyde

Clyde, a hundred pounds of gentle kindness, found his way into the hearts of nearly every Hunterwood family in the early days of the neighborhood. This beloved red Lab, never fenced and always free, made every yard his own—lounging peacefully as children played, a quiet guardian and friend to all. With a gentleman’s patience, he waited at doorsteps for a kind word or a meal, never imposing but always welcome. Whether accompanying a walker or cyclist on any journey, near or far, or greeting kids at the bus stop each morning in hopes of a pat and a biscuit, Clyde was a constant, loyal presence.

When he passed, it was only fitting that his resting place be in the heart of the community he loved—the esplanade at Helen and Wildwood. More than 50 people, some traveling from out of state, gathered to honor him, sharing stories of his unwavering devotion. Though Clyde may be gone, his spirit of friendship and loyalty lingers in Hunterwood, a lasting reminder of the love and warmth that makes this neighborhood home.
